The first Allies & Angels Interactive Community Exhibit,(AAICE) was held at the Inter Urban Gallery in the downtown east side in June 2015. Performing were Salome Nieto, (botoh dance artist), Adam Farnsworth, (pianist), and Alexis Douglas, (cello). Artists, exhibiting were Mojgan Abolhassani, Katherine Soucie, Adam Farnsworth and Diane Farnsworth. During the show, the community came together and created their own depiction of ‘allies and angels.’ The DTES community dropped by and drew their allies and added their work to a large poster board.

The next AAICE was held on November 12th 2015 at the Wise Hall. Salome Nieto was accompanied by Adam Farnsworth and Kenan Sungar. There were12 artists of various styles and training who exhibited their works. Some of the artists included Ben Roback, Katherine Soucie, Mojgan Abolhassani, Anne Banner, Jenny Craig, Kristie Rose, Carla Shirley, Kelly Jimenez, CR Avery.

Our objective with AAICE was to create a space that was inclusive to the community so that everyone could enjoy creating art without judgment and on the flipside, a space where featured artists could share their work. It was an invitation to collaborate and to create conversations through drawing, collage, pastels and poetry. Tables with art materials were set up in the middle of the room where everybody created.

The Wise Hall is located at 1882 Adanac Street, ( off of Victoria Street)
